In a Nutshell:a tribute to this country's over three decade old radio show, and to our history of live radio. Easy, dry, mid west humor.Stand outs are credible crooners Yolanda(Streep) and Rhonda(Tomlin)as surviving quartet singing sisters; and cowboys Dusty(Harrelson) and Lefty(Reilly), trying to up each other with bawdy humor.Keillor plays himself, sneaking in long stories moments before his stage manager ushers him to his mike. Dir Altman(Players; Ready to Wear) trademark behind the scenes, Back stage scenes, where this stellar cast reveal their characters, then go on to perform engaging and often riotous, musical skits. A perfect, Altman film. |
